First, we discuss the infrastructure information for the Cyberfair project. Our first mission is for everyone to search data through the Internet at home to understand the work and theme in the past Cyberfair events. We also form the 2013 Cyberfair project team, consisting of a group of 8th graders form Hsiyang Junior High School. This is my first time to participate in the Cyberfair project. Even thought it feels hard, it is worthy trying. How will I know if I can do it or not if I do not give it a try? |

Next, we form FB club. We were divided into five groups as follows: Chia-hsiang and Ching-wei; Hsiang-ping, Yun-yu, and Tzu-hui; Chih-ying and Po-cheng; Yu-heng and Po-hsuan; and Chung-chuan and Ying-hsuan. We distribute work, prepare recorder and camera, and then discusse related questions to practice for interviewing on-campus teachers. The next day, we practice with the on-campus teacher, and then improve the mistakes we make on the interview contents. We also discuss different questions for different targets on the interviewing date.
One day before formal interviews, we assemble the interviewing questions for Hsichou Art Street Parade and distribute the teams participating in the contest into groups. We also record the Hsiyang Junior High School parade rehearsal and confirm the route, interviewing tools, and meeting time.
Tomorrow (11/3, the day for Hsichou Culture Festival) will be the time for formal interviews. We are very nervous since we are playing the role of interviewers to interview teams in the contest. We are going to be little reporters from Hsiyang Junior High School. We wish us to have smooth and successful interviews. |

On the day of Hsichou Art Street Parade, we get together to prepare for the interviews, check equipment, confirm the teams for interviews and adjust our mood.
Many teams are coming to earn prizes. They all put in a lot of effort for this activity. Each team has spent at least 3 to 4 weeks of hard work for this activity to get today’s results. Of course we hope we can win a prize too. It is a chance for us to go out and have fun together. We will not get frustrated even if we win nothing. At least we have fun in the procedure and work hard together. We have also learned different and special skills compared to the others.
After the parade is done, we start to organize interviewing photographs and reports, and discuss achievements of the Hsichou Art Street Parade and review mistakes. We usually forget what we wanted to report in the middle of writing. The biggest difficulty is to recall what happened on the parade day and what interviewees said in the interviews. We need to put all these together into a report. Finishing the report is the happiest thing for us. |

All members go to Lushun Road to visit the photograph exhibition of Teacher Liang-yi Chang.
We discover that there is a deep moving story behind each photograph when we get there. Master expresses the farmers’ mood and feelings on their faces picturesquely. Farmers work hard, so even the dirt on their face shows their hard work. Each photograph shows us the meaning of real life that we have to pass through. Mr. Liang-yi Chang can always catch the focal point of the scenes. From different angles and using different techniques, he can easily shows us different styles. Our photography technique is so far away from Mr. Liang-yi Chang’s. The rice is the most representative crop, but is ordinary and does not grab people’s attention. Through his perfect technique, the photograph shows us the importance of rice to people’s life. Because of these types of work from Teacher Liang-yi Chang, all people learn that rice is the characteristic of our village. He is a good example of our learning. |

We create new groups including “Writing Group”, “Web Design Group”, and “Mess Around Group”. Each group is assigned a different mission and proceeds with its own assignment. From this moment, the Cyberfair project team is distributed into these three group and everyone focuses on one’s work. We all learn different experiences from our own group. Each group works very hard.

Mess Around Group: Interview questionnaire, discuss for investigation of Hsichou Cultural Festival place, questionnaire designing, questions of interviewing Teacher Liang-yi Chang, local snack discussion, and attractions.
It is really hard, but we start to move on to the next goal. In the learning process, we happily and seriously listen to every word the teacher says. Now, we move one big step toward the completion of the Cyberfair project. In the beginning, we did not understand the project quite well, but now we are all getting familiar. With the Cyberfair project, we learn a lot of extracurricular creations. Thanks to teachers for their training and encouragement.
All members from Mess Around Group prepare the listed items for interviewing Teacher Liang-yi Chang on 12/6. Tomorrow (12/7) will be the date for the formal interview. They are not really that nervous, but Po-hsun keeps making mistakes. Thanks to Teacher Liang-yi Chang for ignoring the mistakes, and finishing his explanation patiently. After the interview, we come home to organize interview data and write afterthoughts. Many answers from Teacher Liang-yi Chang require our deep review together. Master Chang catches instantaneous delicate touches to take every picture. Without any doubt, every picture shows the Master’s dear love and deep care. We are all deeply touched too. |

Mess Around Group then proceeds with the interview of the Hsichou mayor and discusses the tour of Hsichou attractions.
When we record it, we discover that everything the mayor has done was for Hsichou Township. He is not only worried about the river water problem, but also thinks about how to spread Hsichou culture around to everyone. I suddenly feel he is very great. The mayor always passionately participates in every activity in Hsichou. I can tell he loves Hsichou very much. In the interview, when I get lost on the topic, the principal pulled me back to the right direction so that I would not stray too far from the point. From this interview, we understand how the mayor has contributed to Hsichou. For the next generation, he has put in a lot of effort to protect this homeland. This is the spirit we should learn.
Let us move on to the next topic! Even though most of the discussions of today are not what we expected, we discover that there are so many delicious foods and ancient style buildings. We expect more on the Hsichou attractions tour. Our goal would be eating, drinking and having lots of fun, but we still need to plan for it. We need to plan the route first; otherwise we cannot go out and have fun. Hsichou is really a nice place where we can eat a lot good food, have a lot if fun and get really tired. By Chih-ying’s explanation, we now have a better understanding for Hsichou attractions. When we look into the addresses, some buildings look very old, but they naturally emit a kind of yearning feeling. We cannot wait to visit these places on-site. When we are searching related affairs about these attractions, we taste their stories and enjoy the yearning feeling they have brought to us. |

Web Design Group is working on making webpages and posting writing.
For four continuous days, we use some fragmented time and some overnights to modify the program. We are so tired. One bottleneck we encountered was that one additional category was found in the “parade afterthoughts”. I made almost 20 sets of changes, and finally got it done.

Our work is always writing progress reports. We have distributed our work to everyone, so that we can complete the organization one by one. We have done many writings during this period of time. The teacher’s teaching helps us to learn some skills we did not have before. Along the process, we seem to be very green, but I believe we will finally burst into beautiful flowers. Let’s go!
Messing Around Group looks into attraction’s phone number, address, and local snacks.
Finally we finish Hsichou attraction tour investigation. Even though we are tired, and haven’t had a lunch break recently, but we are very happy. Through the investigation these few days, we understand more about Hsichou attractions. Although we ate a big lunch at noon, we start to get hungry again when we see Hsichou snacks. We expect to try them all someday. |

Mess Around Group is working on organizing questionnaire contents and completing subject abstracts. We work hard for so long, and now we are waiting for winter break. We knew nothing in the beginning, but now we have some results and growth. For the rest of the time, let us finish all our work perfectly. Go! Go! The ending is in front of us. We suddenly find out this is fun in the recent days. This is a good learning process. Let us do it.
Web Design Team organizes everyone’s afterthoughts and puts them on web pages. The data we need to organize is getting more and more complicated. When we encounter a difficulty, we always discuss it together. Perhaps our discussion is not the best solution, but it is what we all contribute to matters. Now we need to categorize all photographs and data, so that we can finish the work more smoothly.
The Writing Group also designs lovely dolls using leisure time. We continue to cut the clay and spend many efforts to complete this. We need to make sure it can stand still, and that it is fixed but not separated. It is somewhat difficult.
From the very beginning, our teacher worked hard to take many photographs for our records. Searching for matching photographs to attach with writing and producing a report is a sense of achievement. These few days, we edited articles on the webpage, and made the contents better. Our eyes got really tired. Today is the last day of class. Winter break is coming. We expect it. Our work is almost done. Partners, let us cheer for one another! |

The Web Design Group comes to the resource classroom at school to modify web pages, photographs, and articles previously created during winter break. They have been continuously modifying these in these recent days. The articles are becoming perfect, so the efforts during winter break will produce good results. Hang on, partners!
These few days, the work we have been doing at school is about the same. We keep on editing web pages, photographs, articles, and the research process. We come to school to modify some small area, and only need a few weeks to finish. We start from the morning, and sometimes work until evening. We have encountered many difficulties, but fortunately the teachers support us. It is hard. We wish we would get results. Let’s go! |

The Cyberfair project is finally done. That means the work we have been busy for, for the past few weeks, is close to the end. Suddenly, I feel sad to let it go. From the beginning we interviewed on the streets, and in the end we organized data. We have encountered many incidents in the middle, and sometimes faced some difficulties.
Teachers taught us how to finish work more easily. We want to especially thank our leading teachers, Teacher Chien-yin and Teacher Sheng-ping, since they have accompanied us from nothing to a complete webpage, and they were always the first people to help resolve our problems. Looking at our own work, we feel a full sense of achievement. |
