Results
After the 2012 Hsichou Cultural Festival was over, we created a questionnaire for the viewpoints of the local people in regards to the cultural activities season. With the Google statistics functions on the Internet and the traditional paper questionnaires, we did the survey for three weeks. We received 60 filled questionnaires, but only 42 of them were valid. We categorized the data, ran statistics, and did analyses. For the understanding of the relevant contents, we organized the results as follows.

1. How many activities do you know about the Hsichou Cultural Festival? (Multiple choice)
Answer for question 1: Every one knows the activities. The most known activities are the Village Art Street Parade, Liang-yi Chang’s Stand in the Field Photography Exhibition, and the Bicycle Tour in Hsichou.

2. How many activities have you participated in for the festival? (Multiple choice)
Answer for question 2: Most people participated in the Village Art Street Parade, Liang-yi Chang’s Stand in the Field Photography Exhibition, and Hsichou Shangshui Farmer’s Market.

3. Which activities of the festival do you like? (Multiple choice)
Answer for question 3: The top three activities are the Village Art Street Parade, Liang-yi Chang’s Stand in the Field Photography Exhibition, and Hsichou Shangshui Farmer’s Market.

4. Which groups in the Village Art Street Parade do you like? (Multiple choice)
Answers for question 4: In the Village Art Street Parade, the most popular groups are Hsiyang Junior High School, Ming Dao University, and Junliao Community + Central Taiwan Science Park Water Protest Association.

5. Which cultures or themes do you wish to be included in the festival next year? (Multiple choice)
Answer for question 5: Interviewees suggest involving the agricultural industry, history, and temple festival in the cultural festival.

6. Did you see Liang-yi Chang’s Photography Exhibition?
Answer for question 6: Most people did.

7. Is Lushun Road a good location for a photography exhibition? Why?
Answer for question 7: From the questionnaire, most people think Lushun Road is a good location; a few people suggest other places, such as Hsichou Flower Fair Park, south of Jizaipi Cannel and highway 152. Also, someone stated that Lushun Road was too far-off to find.

8. What is the best feature that represents Hsichou? Why?
Answer for question 8: Most people agree that the guava and Jhuoshuei River are the best features that represent Hsichou, since the guava is the most famously known agricultural product of Hsichou and is exported to various areas. Jhuoshuei Riverbreeds all agricultural products in Hsichou, so everyone agrees it is the best way to represent Hsichou.

9. Which attractions of Hsichou are you impressed with (time, place, features)? If people ask you to recommend the attractions of Hsichou, what places would you suggest?
Answer for question 9: The locals think that Hsichou Flower Expo Park, Lushun Road, and Jhuoshuei River are impressive, and they will recommend places to visitors.

10. What other cultural activities should Hsichou hold? How?
Answer to question 10: Most people suggest that Hsichou holds more activities related to agricultural product sales, commercial cultural products, and music, so that people can know Hsichou better.
