Tour Record Part-4

Watch the Film " Peter and the Wolf "

After rambling on the first floor, we went to the media playing section of the second floor. We watched a film of the performance done by National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. The song played was "Peter and the Wolf," a famous piece written for children by Sergei Prokofiev. In the film, there was a funny clown called Sara, who always mischieved beside the conductor. The teacher joked that Sara was just like Yun-Ruei and Po-Yuan. When we were still enjoying the film, Ms. Chiang told us that it was about time to go but we were reluctant to go back. We gave Ms. Chang a thank-you card to express our gratitude and took pictures with her, thanking for her hard effort in explaining the characters and knowledge of different musical instruments for us today.

Reflections

Writer: Jun-Wei Chen, Sharp Shooter

The tour had everyone learn much professional knowledge and touch some nearly untouchable musical instrumoents. The musical instruments were usually only for display, not for playing. But since we were all members of the Children Orchestra, the NTSO allowed us to experience some of these valuable instruments. The sound of the pipe organ was pretty unique, and there even were pedalbaords at the bottom, which made me admire the musicians who play the organ pipe. They must be agile in limbs and clear in minds!

With the excellent explanation of Ms. Chang, the simple tour turned out to be a turning point for our music learning, which changed our thoughts on music. I'd like to thank Ms. Liu, Ms. Hsu, Ms. Chiang, and Director Chung for organizing and guiding us in this tour. We truly had an unforgettable memory which was worthy the visit.
