Website Structure Chart

This structure chart is a protoype for the website, because of this we need to complete the presentation of the research and activities. After a lot of thinking and effort from the team, we finally completed the plan for the website's structure. This time, we will start from eight major topics and extend out from there to show our research, activities, discoveries and conclusions.

Questionnaire Statistics and Analysis

On this occasion, we have both paper questionnaires and online ones. We used Excel to collate the statistics and convert them into picture graphs. After completion, we used these graphs to make an objective analysis of the topics. After trying the two different types of questionnaire, we discovered that the online questionnaire was so much more convenient and faster!

Book Donations

The school principal and ourselves took the money from the book sale to the Guangrong Orphanage near our school. We hope that this money can help to improve the lives of these children and give them more opportunities to read. After the donation, the warden took us around and told us many stories about the orphanage. After this visit, we realized how lucky we all are!

Preparing for the Independent Bookstore Interview

At the Small Small Bookshop, we looked at a map of local independent bookstores, and found four in the nearby area. We then each prepared to interview our favorite one. Prior to the interview, we prepared questions and practiced the process of the interview. We also made a list of the types of books and other services they each provide. Finally, we made a thank you card for each of the bookstores.

Independent Bookstore Interviews

Everyone was very happy to start our tour of the independent bookstores. The four bookstores we visited all had very different styles. Shulin Bookstorehad many children's language books and picture books; Xiabeichi Bookstore is a tiny Japanese style store; Tianyuan Citylife Bookstore had many specially designed cartoons; and Riverside Bookstore was full of the aroma of coffee and seemed a great place to read.

Drawing Website Illustrations

During the winter vacation, we began to draw the illustrations of Small Small Bookstore and the people who work there along with pictures of our activities. Our teacher said that after we put these illustrations into the website it will make the site look much better. The most special was that we ourselves designed our own independent bookstore!
