Luke is very helpful. He is an intelligent man who received high grades as a student. When people ask him how did that, he always says, “just work hard, nothing else”. He is so humble. We should develop our interest in studying and be humble just like him.

Mr. Go-yu Tsai shared his education experiences with Luke Lin with us. Mr. Tsai cares very much about his children’s education. He could not understand why someone would offer free English classes at first. Then he begin to change his mind as he learned more about Luke.
Mr. Tsai and Luke share religious beliefs. It was how they first met each other. As a Buddhist, Mr. Tsai took his son to Luke’s class at Ming Harng Temple. His son, Paul, was a very good student who now is enrolled at a good high school. Seeing his son’s achievements, under Luke’s teaching, made him appreciate Luke even more. Mr. Tsai has been very helpful and gives a lot of support to My Culture Connect.

In Luke Lin, I see a person who never gives up. Luke is a responsible and helpful person who has helped many students in rural areas learn English. He makes learning materials for students and teachers and sets up Skype sessions so students are able to talk to people from other countries. Luke is a nice person who works very hard. Luke’s handwriting is very good. He is well-organized and writes down important things in his notebooks. I have learned a lot from Luke.

Luke pays a lot of attention to character education. He is a filial son who studies hard and works hard. He helps those who are in need. For example, he generously offered free classes to adults. His colleague Susan was one of the his students.
Luke looked forward to getting up early to study. He studied so hard that he even studied English vocabulary words while riding his bike. I admire him for that. He shoots videos at Dahsin Elementary School every Monday and puts them on the Chinese website of My Culture Connect to help students learn English. He is our role model.
I am touched by Luke’s work. He has made a lot of contributions to society. He helps students reach out to the global community and gives them the opportunity to show their talents to people from different countries. His project is wonderful.

Luke is a hard-working person. Whenever we interviewed people, they always mentioned that he studied so hard as a student. Every night when he went to bed, he wanted to get up early to study. He even tried to study vocabulary words while riding his bike. He volunteered to promote English education in rural areas. He was also the anchor for CIEN news. He was such a workaholic, always full of energy.
Luke is a vegan. He listened to many speeches and decided that it was not good to enjoy delicious meat at the cost of animals’ lives. It was not good for people’s health because of the many chemicals found in animals. Killing animals for food also destroyed the balance in nature. For these reasons, he decided to quit eating any animal-related foods.
The abbess of the Ming Harng Temple told us that Luke worked very hard to help boost students’ abilities. He organized many contests to motivate students to work harder. The results of the contests can be viewed at the monastery.
I really admire Luke’s dedication. His hard work has planted a seed of hope in our minds. We will try hard to make it grow and blossom in the future.

Luke is very enthusiastic about his work and studies. He has worked for so many years helping others in order to achieve his goals in life. Even when he failed, he got back on his feet and tried to overcome the difficulties he faced. His hard work and altruistic mindset are admirable. It helps me to understand that it is only by working hard that you will get to enjoy the fruits of your efforts.
Grandpa Mike told us that during his stay in Taiwan, it was Luke and Susan that took care of him. He regards Luke as his Taiwanese son and he affectionately calls Susan, Ma ma, because she takes such good care of him. He is very happy to have a family in Taiwan. They taught him how to speak Mandarin. Grandpa Mike feels a sense of achievement because he can speak some common expressions in Mandarin. He is grateful to Luke, Susan and all his Taiwanese friends. As in this case, we see that Luke is a very helpful person. Helping others makes him happy. This is something we can learn from Luke.
