	The English Vocabulary Contest
	Each year, Ming Harng Temple and My Culture Connect organize an English Vocabulary Contest to help motivate students improve their English. The contest is open to elementary and junior high students and there is no entry fee. Following guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, junior high students are tested on the 2000 most commonly used vocabulary words and the elementary students are tested on the 1000 most commonly used words. There are awards of trophies, certificates and prize money to the top ten students.
