The decorations of the Gu Feng Building were used to display the life styles of the traditional Lu-Kang. On the 1st floor, there were Deity Hall, the room of Uncle, accounting Room, kitchen. The deity room was decorated like s wedding hall, and there were all things necessary for the needs of wedding. The picture on the wall was a photo of wedding between the Gu family and the Din family. Both families were rich and powerful in the economy in Lu-Kang in the old days.
On the 2nd floor, there were bedroom, baby room, studying room and the lobby.

The Gu Feng Building was a traditional Fu Jian style of nearly 200 years. It was located on the Chong San Road in Lu-Kang which was called Gu Feng Building du to the house was so long and deep in the space.

The building was built in the 18th century. It was located on the Chong San Road in Lu-Kang. The Gu Feng Building was a traditional Fu Jian style of nearly 200 years. It was located on the Chong San Road in Lu-Kang which was called Gu Feng Building du to the house was so long and deep in the space. The front half of the house was for the purpose of business, and the other half of the house was for the purpose of the living of the family.
The material of the house was mostly coming from the mainland China, including the precious wood, stone and Ming Nan brick.
| The styles of the street house were different. As for the Gu Feng Building. There were one store, three yards and two wing houses. The Gu Feng Building was repaired from 1994 to 2000AD. The Gu Feng Building was changed into the west style on the out side of the building.

Marriage Tradition |
In the past, getting married was a great thing for the people in their life time. Getting married was as important as succeeding in the great test.We could see the high value of marriage to the Chinese and so did to the Lu-Kang people. Most of the people of Lu-Kang were coming from Fu Jian. Therefore, they had the custom of the team of marriage, and in front the team, there was a long bamboo which means the loyalty to the marriage. Beside, before the team, there was a musical band which could increase the happiness of the wedding. There was not only the Sedan of the bribe, but also the sedan of the matchmaker. Matchmaker was an important role in the conservative Chinese society, and so was the Lu-Kang. What’s more, they were mach dowry with the bribe which could show the economic power of the lady’s family. |

“Long house” is one of the special traditions in LuKang. In the period of trading, other than the limit of construction materials, all businessmen were wishing to have their store face the street. Most constructions are about two to three stories high, in order to have more space for both living and business. |
