There is no national comprehensive university in Yunlin County. Yun-Tech is a top-notch university in Yunlin County. Yun-Tech University is located in Douliu. The campus is about 58 hectare, which is designed perfectly with an exquisite environment and filled with a cultured and well-mannered atmosphere. It is the model of a green school. It is ranked first for recycling up to 70% of its water resources annually.

The National Yunlin Institute of Technology was built in 1989, and has since been elevated to Yun-Tech University. It is a top-notch university of vocational education. After 25 years of establishment, there are presently four colleges: The College of Engineering, The College of Management, The College of Design, and The College of Humanities and Applied Sciences. This includes 20 majors and 26 graduate schools. There are about 10,000 students so far. Yun-Tech University is well-designed with eight featured campus sites and is set up with various public works of art. A variety of exhibitions are held in the art center to propel artists to work on campus, which constructs a better humanities learning environment. The library has various periodicals, magazines, electronic resources and digital learning materials, boasting about 2.22 million in total. It also offers a comfortable reading corner and wireless internet environment. The space for sports recreation is more than 15 hectares, with all sorts of well-set out sports facilities and equipment.
