Douliu Train Station

Transportation to the out-of-town
Douliu is a small hospitable city and is also the most convenient transportation location in Yunlin County. It is all very convenient for visitors who are taking trains, busses, or driving cars to come to Douliu. If you would like to drive from Taipei by taking the southbound National Highway 1, it takes about 150 minutes to arrive at Victoria Academy.

Douliu is a suitable place for the train-taking tourists. The new train station was starting using in 2008, which was novel and beautiful. When walking out the train station, tourists can visit Tai-Ping Old Street, enjoying lots of cousins. There are lots of modern stores gathering together, particularly some clothes stores have formed their unique styles attracting people’s attention. In recent two years, a couple of new cultural and creative clusters have been developed, becoming the new highlights in Douliu.

Douliu Station is located where the Yunlin County Government is and is also one of the top stations in the island railway. Most trains stop at Douliu Station, which was built in 1904. In 1958, a 2nd generation armored concrete station was used. Not until 2006 was it torn down. Two years later, a steel-structured station was then put into formal use, and looks truly amazing both front and back. The ticket office and other information facilities are all on the second floor, where the station hall connects the front and rear exits. A tourism service center is also set up in the station hall, which is open all year round to offer traveling information, deals to those with Youth Travel Cards, and introduce visitors to experience local customs in Yunlin County.
