Joy & Hope Workshop Wheat Milling Plant granted organic certification

On January 29, 2015, Joy & Hope Workshop Wheat Milling Plant was granted organic certification.

All wheat flour come from 100%(OCIA) organic certified farms which haven’t applied any type of inorganic fertilizers on any of their crops and only use crop rotation to keep the soil rich and protect the environment of the crop. The harvested crops are stored in a non-chemical or fumigation disinfected storage room. Furthermore, transported by trucks which has passed inspection.

The Joy & Hope Workshop Wheat Milling Plant of Joy & Hope Wheat is factory with organic certification. No chemical is used throughout the entire milling and storage process. In each processing step and every single detail no contamination of any sort is permitted.

Help farmers develop community industrial economy

In helping farmers develop community industrial economy, farmers can directly mill the wheat they harvested and retrieve the flour. This way the farmers would develop a sense of pride and closeness to the crops they produced and they will continue to keep the planting of the crop. The crop is no longer a simple commodity. If it was just a commodity, the farmers would not have any feeling for the crop and would easily give it up for more profitable crops. Therefore, it’s crucial that we help the farmers develop community industrial economy.

Joy & Hope Solar Power Plant promotes multi-grain education

Joy & Hope Solar Power Plant of Joy & Hope Workshop hopes to promote food and farming awareness education. The bread industry is considered one of the highest energy-consuming industries. The milling of wheat into flour takes a lot of energy, and also a lot of water is required for wheat cleaning. On top of that a huge amount of electricity is needed for the baking of the bread. In a bakery even more electricity is necessary to power the air conditioning and the lighting needed to make the bread look delicious. Therefore, it’s a high energy-consuming industry.

Joy & Hope Workshop is currently using the power generated from the solar panels on its roof to bake its bread which significantly reduces energy consumption. Furthermore, we also invested in a Joy & Hope Multi-grain car which with its wings spread out can have solar panel attach to it. We plan to use this car to tour around the schools and communities of the country promoting the possibility of multi-grain production. Therefore the car is solar powered so no additional electrical connection is required. We can also make plain buns and buns with fillings. This way we can do both active and static forms of educating hence more readily promote multi-grain awareness education.
