What a Fortunate to be a Part of Ping He Children Orchestra

I have so much to talk about Ping He Children Orchestra, yet it is so deeply rooted in me that I don't know where to start. 3 years ago, my first daughter, Yun-yi, returned to the Children Orchestra. Instructed by Ms. Lai, she becameGeneral Director of the Children Orchestra. In order to increase the members, she encouraged her little sister Yun-Ruei to join in Children Orchestra. Yun-Ruei didn't know how to play the piano, but, under the instruction of Ms. Lai, she has stayed in Children Orchestra for 3 years and attended 3 consecutive Changhua County Music Competition, which has completely changed her life.

It is true that Children Orchestra has been the focus of Yu-Ruei's school life ever since she was in the 5th grade. It is hard to imagine an opinionative loner like her is able to stay in Children Orchestra for such a long time. She would rather die than drop out. She even started practicing the piano, which has never won her favor before. In order to live up to the name of "Quick Silver", her arms have got stronger and stronger—what a price to pay! The experience of failure in Changhua County Music Competition last year was what pushed her to go forward and better her skills. Ms. Liu is the key person of the orchestra and Yun-Ruei's idol. In both our car and home, the pieces of music that the orchestra practices, such as Pirates of the Caribbean Theme, The Colonel Bogey March, and, this year, The Phantom of the Opera are always played.

What really touches me is not the championship that they got in the Changhua County Music Competition, but the never-giving-up persistence that the teacher has modeled for the children and, in turn, the children have shown in their performance. Ms. Liu always gives up her own holidays for orchestra practice. Moreover, they also tried out for different types of performances. Besides the Performance at Changhua County Sports Meet, the Children Orchestra even went to Taipei to attend PTS's Taiwan Kids, Great!, not only to promote the school but also to broaden the horizon of the children's world. Looking at all of this, I have to give all my thanks. There is so much to say and nothing can be summed up with simple words. I can only say I am filled awe to see such a beautiful sight—a teacher leads her students to work hard and grow up. Therefore I pay my respect and thanks to Ms. Liu and wish Children Orchestra all the best in the National Students Music Competition.
