We Love Small Small

After interview people at Small Small and going to there to participate in the activites, we were left with strong feelings. We also felt that we should take this great bookshop and tell everyone at school about it. Through presentations, we brought Small Small to the school and shared its story with our classmates.

School Promotion

Date:11/12/2012 - 11/16/2012
Location:Yu-Tsai Elementary School – Science and Computer Classrooms
Attendees:Sabrina, Angela, Eva, Lucy and Ray

Preparation

  • 1. Planning for the presentation.
  • 2. Making a survey.
  • 3. Making a quiz and prized.

Activity

Location, Equipment and People Check

Before the activity started, we got to the classroom and prepared. We tested the presentation, computers and projector and let the host rehearse one more time.

The Start

After the students got into their seats, the host, Sabrina introduced herself and explained the activity that the student would do for the next two days. After briefly introducing the cyberfair team, we then began the main event.

Promotion

We introduced the Small Small Bookshop to the students and shared with them our experiences at the shop. Looking at the students and seeing their reaction, we knew that we had struck a chord with them.

Prizes

After the introduction, we asked the students some questions and gave them prizes for getting the right answer. Seeing how quickly the students’ arms shot up when we asked questions, we could see that our introduction had been successful.

Survey

At the end of the activity, we checked each student’s questionnaire to see how interested they were.

Finally, we asked use the students to write a short message to express their own little encouragement or suggestion.

We did a presentation about Small Small Bookshop. During the presentation, Sabrina talked while I say in the audience, I thought that if I was a real audience, I would go to the Small Small Bookshop, because Sabrina explained bookstore’s feature very clearly and in a way fun. And in the end we played game, so that they can remember it more clearly! I think this activity was very successful!

This time I led the briefing about the “Small Small Bookshop” events. I know that the speaker and operator need to be in complete agreement in order to be successful in our event. We will have a chance to introduce a great little book store to everyone. It is a very comfortable and unique store, offering many activities and a personal touch so often neglected by big chains. After my schoolmates listened conscientiously to our presentation, they placed the “Small Small Bookshop” in high regard.
