The Beauty of Jade
Fong Tian jade is warm and translucent. There are big sculptural pieces, as big as a person and small pieces like jewlry and accessories. It's harness is over 6, which makes it in the standard of jewels. These rocks are beautiful, rare and can last forever. Because the mined Fong Tian jade is semi-transparent and it's a type of metamorphic rock, it has foliation. This jade's characteristics are related to how you work with them. Sculptural pieces are more flat. This makes them suitable to carve into the shapes of people or animals. Working with the face of a Fong Tian jade piece you need to realize there are 2 different types -- either regularly or irregularly arranged fibers.
