Changhua Raoping Hakka Junior Corps went to school for Raoping Hakka training with Mrs. Qiu during winter break. Loud, clear sounds of bamboo clappers and the sounds of Raoping Hakka readings already won the administrators’ praise. The prestigious family group had already became the most popular Hakka performance group in Changhua County, even the Hakka TV Channel had invited them for Changhua Art and Literature program twice. On January 31, 2016, they performed in Nanping Community beside the school, and then in the afternoon, the FTV had an exclusive interview with Mrs. Qiu on Yongjing Hakka. On February 4, the Hakka TV Channel went to Jing Siou Elementary School to interview with the students and their training. And on February 7, Chinese New Year Eve, they performed for the Chinese New Year celebration event on Yongjing Street, and during February 17 to 19, they performed from class to class. On February 21, they had a performance in Yuanlin City for the International Mother Language Day; on February 23, they performed at Jing Siou Elementary School for the Hakka Week; and on February 27, they performed in Puxin Township for World Hakka Day.

In order keep the performance unique and special, there are about 20 forms of Raoping Hakka performance. Besides adapting clappers, articulation, reciting, speech, story-telling, drama, pair-singing, and nursery rhyme adaptions, Mrs. Qiu also combines Raoping Hakka performance with Chinese Music, saxophones, country dance, and drum teams based on her usual materials, sometimes with pop songs sung in Raoping Hakka. One of the specials is the 60-year-old school song of Jing Siou Elementary School; Mrs. Qiu also recomposed traditional Raoping Hakka songs “Combine Raoping Hakka Language” (〈湊合饒平客話〉) and “Greeting Song” (〈歡迎歌〉) and many other ballads with bamboo clappers, which are all popular and easy to learn. We believe 2016 will be a rewarding year for reviving Changhua Raoping Hakka.
