Being encouraged and instructed by Mrs. Qiu, the Junior Corp and Parent-child team enrolled in the eighth National Raoping Hakka Reading and Speech Contest instructed by Hakka Affairs Council and held by Hsinchu Raoping Hakka Culture Association. Eight pairs of parents and children were preparing for it. Mrs. Qiu corrected their pronunciation and taught them speech skills every morning. She also arranged for them to perform in public to practice and to promote Raoping Hakka. In a few weeks, the Corp really made a great improvement. They had left their marks in Counselors’ Office, Office Of Academic Affairs, Teachers’ Office, Health Center, Playground, hallways, Gymnasium, classrooms and so on. The Hakka competition had not yet started but the Hakka boom had already swept through the campus and gave the contestants a confidence boost.

As the competition time approaches, the Corp initiated in going to teach the elders in Renli Community in Puxin to speak Hakka with Mrs. Qiu, which is the third time she had been there, in one Saturday morning in the end of October. After the lecture, Mrs. Qiu suggested to go to the nearby Fengtian Temple to speak Raoping to God Emperor Guan, and the Corp told the stories of Emperor and Sky Broken Day in Hakka. Mrs. Liu spoke her Mew Mew Cat’s story in front of the majestic God and Mrs. Qiu pointed out the sentences that needed to be improved. At the same time, she gave us confidence by complimenting us on the progress we had made. Mr. Chen, who worked in Puxin Township Office, kept telling us we did a great job. We appreciate for Mrs. Qiu’s guide. We were not nervous anymore, and plus, we were more confident than ever. The Corp like the lively teaching way of Mrs. Qiu, and we believe that we are also blessed by God. We will give an outstanding performance on the stage in the competition.
