Research Milestones

Previously, the choice location near Wuxing Elementary for a day out was the Elephant Hill trail.  However, having come to learn about the Tiaomi Trail over the past few years, we found that the Tiaomi Trail not only provided a natural environment, but also had its own cultural and historical stories, so we wanted to understand it; we wanted to actually walk the trail ourselves.

 

 

September, 2012

Before taking the Tiaomi Trail, we first collected information about it from the library and the Internet. We discovered that our Nature Studies teacher, Mr. Xu Bo-kai had previously already prepared a project on the Tiaomi Trail, and had produced a presentation file on the trail. We also found books introducing historical trails and Xinyi district at the library, and on the Internet we found blogs about the Tiaomi Trail.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

November, 2012

New member Yong-ming changed the team name for us, to the Seed of Hope Team.

 

 

 

 

November 21st, 2012

On the afternoon of November 21st, 2012, the Seed of Hope team finally took its first hike on the Tiaomi Trail. Led by Teacher Wang Zhe-fu, who pulled the strings, the Taihe village headman made a special trip to meet us at the trail entrance on our first time on the Tiaomi Trail, and made arrangements to discuss the trail with him on our next visit to his office.

December 22nd, 2012

We went on another hike of the Tiaomi Trail with the school's Teacher Xu, who is already very familiar with the trail.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

January, 2013

Teacher Ah Ching encouraged all the children to take advantage of the winter holidays to take their families on a hike of the Tiaomi Trail, and make photographic or drawn records of their impressions of the trail. After collecting all the research data and artwork, we created a special web page.
