Tzu Cheng Boulevard

Tzu Chi Medical School was founded on October, 1994 commencing the first day for courses. However, Tzu Cheng senior apprentices from all around, from all walks of life and career backgrounds started arriving at the Medical school months before the commencement. Many came to help with the landscaping surrounding this grand establishment.  Several hundreds of people rolled up their trousers, put on their leaf hats and joyfully, silently participated in any transporting of heavy materials, trimming, cleaning, soil preparing, grass paving and so on.  They were working like “ant soldiers,” together they created the miracle of love repeatedly, time and time again.

The pathway in the trees connecting the Still Thoughts Hall to the medical school is 130 meters long and is comprised of 2500 pieces of natural rocks which are lain as its base.  This work was accomplished by our senior apprentices whose distributed energy and strength was shown by their marvelous work and the continuous sweat that rolled down their bodies like rain during monsoon season.  Our Master named it “Tzu Cheng Boulevard” specifically in honor of their benevolence and devotion.
