Fa Hua Ramp

On both sides of the Still Thoughts Hall are ramps stretching from the basement to the fifth floor. These ramps provide another means, besides using elevators and stairs, for people to ascend or descend floors. Both sides of the ramp are integrated with modern artistic designs that present the classical Buddhist stories in the Lotus Sutra (Fa Hua Scripture) with Tzu Chi believers’ practices in modern time. An educational environment is created throughout all the halls.

Currently, there are exhibitions of Tzu Chi believers’ works worldwide.  Walking on the Fa Hua ramp and viewing one picture after another along with its literal explanations, one’s heart will be touched.  The numerous stories of Tzu Chi are like lotus boosting out of the five defilements of the world.  Fa Hua Ramp is a wheelchair accessible ramp designed for the disable.  Fa Hua means Buddha and so this ramp is called the Fa Hua ramp because stories of the Tzu Chi believers, their life and religion is depicted here.  Its light is so cozy that gives people a heart-warm feel.  There are also some quotations from Jing-Si Aphorisms, providing people chances to learn of it while accessing through the ramp.
