A Letter to the Taipei City MayorA Questionnaire Survey for Our MayorA Letter from the President's Office

Dear “Fantastic 9”,

Thank you for the letter. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed and willing I am to encourage your ambition given your young age, for assembling your team to study the world's tallest building, and attempting to participate in the international Cyberfair competition.

Regarding your questions, during my term as the mayor of Taipei A-Bian only provided suggestions to the TAIPEI 101 planning team. Issues about the overall height and the number of floors, as well as the resistance to earthquakes and winds, all needed to be evaluated and reviewed by architects and professionals before the decisions were made. A-Bian cannot take any credit from them. However, as the completion of the TAIPEI 101, A-Bian being the mayor issuing license of its construction, is very honored and proud.

TAIPEI 101 has become the most important landmark building in Taipei . Many foreign tourists express high interests for the World's tallest building, so our concerning government agencies have already included it in tourism campaigns. Also, because TAIPEI 101 is a civilian property, and the President's Office already has its own building, we have never considered relocating to TAIPEI 101.

Finally, A-Bian wishes the “Fantastic 9” a good luck and success in your research project, and a fruitful result in the international competition.
