The “truth” of “no sky”

Although “No sky" street area is called “no sky” Street, “no sky” doesn't necessarily mean customers received no sun light in the street during their shopping. So-called “no sky” means that the pavilions built by the store owners were connected to each other and almost block the sky. In addition, the measures of skylight made “No sky" street area not as dark as imagined but a comfortable environment for shopping that blocked the wind and rain.

Wisdom of the ancestors

The development of “No sky" street area is not to facilitate carrying on business. It was an overall commercial community formed by store owners to create a more comfortable shopping environment and construct a more convenient trading place. It is not inferior when compared with Yuanding Market Street in Japan. From this point of view, the wisdom of the ancestors is really brilliant.
