Mrs. Qiu was born in Yongjing Loyal House. She did not know her identity as a Raoping Hakka until year 2004 when she started writing her village history. Because of the fight with weapons between Hakka people and Taiwanese, and after the fight, Yongjing residents gave in to Taiwanese and thus rendered their mother tongue to disappear for half a century. Within a short period of time, Mrs. Qiu had written 9 village histories, taking down the rich histories and culture of Yuanlin Yongjing and won Academia Historica Literature Reward for three times and Taiwan Outstanding Performance Literature and History Educator Reward. She said she did not stand a chance to become Minister of Education, Minister of Culture nor Chair person of the board, but she had to be Culture Chair person, because local literature and history is the best cultural asset a place could own.

To rescue her historical home Yongjing Loyal House and the to-be-pulled-down Yuanlin railway, she wrote reportages to take down the cultural change and successfully saved Yongjing Loyal House and won Huang Qi Literary Award for three times. Also, she compiled Yuanlin Compilation, assisted in compiling Changhua County Compilation and helped a famous professor in our nation with researching Changhua literature and history. She is literally a talented woman from Yuanlin Yongjing.

Although Mrs. Qiu worked in the school, she still makes efforts to write local literature and history. She is a great asset to Changhua and anyone one that knows her praises her. When asked how she dealt with so many things in a short period of time, her husband Yang Ming Qin told us that she works very hard and she is fortunate to have three smart and well-behaved children that don’t need her to worry about, so her everyday routine at home is with the company of television on, she sits in front of the computer writing, building networks, compiling literature and history and making teaching materials. She is diligent and efficient, something that we have to pay our respect to.
