About us

Concertmaster of Bass accordion|Po-Yuan Yang

I like music since I was a little kid so I joined this Children Orchestra. I learned the beauty and fun in music and I can show myself in music.
The seniors taught me the accordion when I first joined the Children Orchestra. It wasn't long but I learned a lot. Everyone practiced harder and harder for the Changhua County Music Competition. But my parents asked me to leave because my poor grade of classes. I cried about it. I joined the track and field team once. At that period, the drummer, Hong-Yu Chen, played the song, Pirates of the Caribbean, they practiced these days. It woke my love of music and I kept good grade of classes so I asked my parents let me join the Children Orchestra again. After their discussion, they said YES.
When I came to the practice room, the instructor wasn't the same. After a few test, the teacher assigned me to bass accordion. Although I had some basic skills, I still need to learn a lot to understand the instrument. Ms. Liu always encouraged me to have faith. I kept practicing at home and school. Finally, I became the concertmaster of bass accordion. It was very hard during the time so I really cherish this chance. I kept reminding myself don't give up my favorite music because of school grade. After Ms. Liu's lessons, I understood that we should play with our feeling to make the music vivid, not just practice the skills. Ms. Liu takes feelings in our orchestra but also makes us laugh if we are sad. She always cares for us. After the hard training for a long time, we finally had to face our biggest competitor, Min Sheng Elementary School. The teacher told us the sadness when the senior failed the contest last time. We practiced harder in weekends before the contest. When that day finally came, we went to Yuanlin Elementary School. The first song was the assigned song, English Folk Song Suite 3rd Mov. We followed  Ms. Liu's conduct and played the song in a brisk rhythm. The second song was arranged by our teacher, The Phantom of the Opera. It's fulling of changing and dramatic. We won the first place advanced which made me feel very hard working was worth.
We won this time but our teacher asked us not to loose our nerves because of National Students Music Contest in March. Hope everyone can keep challenging themselves and make it work again.
