National Government fled to Taiwan in 1949, the location of
Dazhi District has become relatively important. Dazhi District

Population Density of Dazhi District
According to official statistics in December 2005, there is
a populace of 36,418 residents inhabiting in the 5.3174 square
kilometers large district. Compared to the density in other
districts of Taipei City, the density of Dazhi is relatively
low. However, despite such low density of population, Dazhi
District still owns abundant commercial resources and public
parks. It is really a blessing for residents of Dazhi.

1. Huguo Meditation Temple of Linji

Huguo Meditation Temple of Linji is located to the west of Yuanshan.
It was built by a Japanese monk during the period of Japanese
Occupation. Construction began in 1900, and ended in 1911.
Huguo Meditation Temple of Linji is situated next to the Keelung
River, nestled among the hills, and covers a large area. To
date, the Daxiong Hall is still in good condition due to proper
maintenance. Daxiong Hall is built entirely of wood, boasting
the Eaves Gutter style of construction, while the architectural
style of the mountain-side entrance belongs to that of the Japanese
Jianghu era. In addition, the giant boulder in front of the
temple, as well as the cemetery for founding members and stone
sculptures of Buddha behind the temple are all objects of historical
value.

Located on Bei-an Road near Yuanshan, Martyrs' Shrine sits
against the mountains and faces KeeLung River. Completed in
1969 the magnificent yet unsophisticated building was built
on an expansive site with names of soldiers who selflessly and
bravely gave their lives for the country carved into commemorative
plaques and pictures that depict how the nation was founded
kept on display. Every spring and every autumn each year, the
President of R.O.C. and government officials would come to offer
oblations. In October, when the nation celebrates its birthday,
many overseas Chinese come to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.

3. Yuanshan Scenic Spot
Many foreign guests of Grand Hotel are stunned by its rear hill
scene. All kinds of sports, such as dancing, Tai-chi, golfing,

4. Taipei Children's Recreation Center
