          All the merchandise coming from different places and gathering can be sold in Dihua Street.There are many kinds of groceries here,inclusive of food ingredients, condiments and traditional Chinese medicine.When we talk about groceries now,we usually mean dried foods,like peanuts,cans……etc.

           The followings are some common groceries：

Mushroom：

       It is an edible fungus,andit can be divided into fresh mushroom,dried mushroom.Shops usually sell dried mushrooms in the Dihua Street.We will interview three stores that they all sell dried mushrooms originating from Puli,Japana and Korea.

Dried shrimps：

      The famous Chinese dish“Cabbage Kaiyan-Style” is simmering with dried shrimps and cabbages. Dried shrimps’ prices differ from their provenances.

     Taiwan is surrounded by sea,so we have a great quantity of fish.Shops sell dried shrimps that usually originating from Keelung, Pingtung and Penghu.

        Peole will put squids one the wooden frameworkutill sun drying the squids.Dried squids usually originate from Chinese,Japan, Vietnam,Korea, Argentina and Peru. Oiginating from Argentina’s dried squids are the most famous.

Scallop：

        It is a seafood,and shops usually sell driedscallops in Dihua Street.It taste very good and fresh,and it is always considered as the best seafood. The prices of dried scallops differ from their size,the bigger one is more expensive.

       It is the famous grocery in Dihua Street.Because of the landforms and climate,mullet roes in Taiwn are bigger than other places.

Sea cucumber：

       It is an echinoderm,and it will chage itscolor from different enviroments. Sea cucumber is provided with dietary supplementation,and it is always compared with Renshen.

      It is usually called “seaweed” in Taiwan. Sea-tangle is provided with high nutritive value and we often use it cooking with soup.
