History of communication with government

In the urban planning, Taichung Government planned to make Tunghai Garden a funeral land. Yang Kui's family submitted a petition to the city government, hoping to change the result. They hope to change it as “Yang Kui Literary Memorial Park.” After the government heard their voice. They had meetings many times. They also set up “Yang Kui Memorial Park Promotion committee.”

In 2010, the city hall suggested to display some belongings of Yang Kui in the Mayor Residence as a small “Yang Kui Hall” and drop the plan of setting“Yang Kui Literary Memorial Park.” However, In 2014, when we visited Yang Chen, son of Yang Kui, he strongly opposed the suggestion. He said Mayor's mansion is too noble for Yang Kui to live in. Yang Kui is a farmer. It is inappropriate for him to live in.
