Min-hung Liao

During this research project what left the greatest impression on me was the interviewing of Xiaoxi residents and store owners. At first we had trouble finding interviewees, but this was, according to our teacher, due to our reluctance to approach and engage in conversation with strangers, and hence we tried to more actively approach passersby, and was finally able to find people who were willing to fill out our survey. After interviewing the shop owners, the teacher treated us to the famous Copper Bells Tangyuan Ice nearby. The peanuts from the peanut tangyuan ice I ordered were soft, the tangyuan chewy—it was delicious.
In addition to enjoying the cuisines, I was able to learn know more about this historically rich area that has also been my home, and have come to love it just this more. When I grow up, I will do all that I can to protect this area, and to show to the world what a fabulous area this is.
