1. Why do you develop the hiking trails in Taipei?
A: In the past, there were some of the trade routes (including transport rice, tea road), Bao-Jia Road (liaison between the village road) and trail, later on, because of convenient transportation, we drive or ride cycling but did not use the old road anymore, local neighborhood chief thought it’s a waste and recommend to repair these trails for people hiking, then we plan of 20 hiking trails.

A: In the early time, the Maokong mainly is rice cultivation, and later also to-date is tea-based, therefore the characteristic of the place which differ to others.

A: In earlier, we have put the tea industry spirit into the trails, also merge camphor into Zhanghu trail there. Last year, we promoted tea polycyclic trails, adding the tea concept on the rails and pavilion, also there are two cats in front of cable station, one core with two leaves of pavilion. We merge the local industry spirit to tea, and we also integrated even harmonics “cat”.

Camphor Trail is accessibility to any ages, it’s around 100 meters away from cable station by walk to the entrance of the hiking trail, flat without any stairs, it’s about 1.1 kilometers, and we did some facilities, such as rotatable barn, pigsty, have some Images about tea and rural facilities on the inside, it can increase the fun of mountaineering. Also last year, we develop the polycyclic trails which with natural landscape - potholes, we also have a suspension bridge there, build styling rail along the trails, there are Cypress tree in the Zhi Shan Tea plantation, I will recommend this trail, too.
