Five years sacrifice

    Five years sacrifice is the most important ceremonies in Paiwan. By the legends, there is the ancestor of villages escaped the famine, to separate seven children, and agreed upon every five years, elderly people must lead all Poles in hand to reunite to worship their ancestors. This is the basic form of five years sacrifice. Now, the LaiYi town still remains in the Bunraku, Wangjia, Gulo, the Nanhos villages to maintain the tradition of five years sacrifice. Thorn rattan ball is "five-year offering" highlight of activities, divided into two stages. Attended by the adult males of the tribe. First day is a blessing, the next day is fortune teller. Now, five years sacrifice had become activities for celebrating their reunion. The relieved parent pushes the significance of its atmosphere is greater than the original. This is the greatest Festival in the Paiwan. Originally held every three years, later changed to once every five years for some reason, also known as the " Five years sacrifice."  

    According to legend, the ancestor learned in the goddess to pray for good harvest. He also studied agricultural cultivation, leader of a wedding ceremony. They agreed with goddess and over a period of time to burn rice and japonica for a sign, let God break upon them, accepting human sacrifices. Having put bamboo Festival, with the five-yearly five-year offering, must band together in the village are the village held ceremonies. Usually Festival held in August of each year, and then jointly organized a joint festival every five years.
