Pianica
Pianicas are played with keyboards. The sound of pianicas is made by blowing the free reeds, just as harmonicas. On the pianica are keyboards and a mouthpiece, which could be used to blow, so we could see pianicas as keyboard instruments which could be blown. The keyboards of pianicas are two to three octaves. Pianicas are small and portable, and are popular in music education, especially in Asia.
The modern pianicas are created by German company Hohner in 1950 to 1960, but similar kinds of instruments had appeared in Italy in 19th century. |
