¡iAnalysis of each project-Middle Taiwan¡j
To make our project more complete and possible to carry out, we referred to many related cases in Taiwan before we started the project. Also, we analyzed and charted the process and results, listing out the pros and cons of each case in order to find out the possibility in our plan. What follows are our analyzing charts for cases in northern, middle, and southern Taiwan. Owing to the fact that our target is on Taichung City, we give the priority to the cases in middle Taiwan, hoping to make the government more easily refer to while conducting new laws and regulations.

¡@Feng Chia Shopping District

Due to the difference in laws in each area, we selected four related cases to analyze in order to let the government refer to. The four cases in our city, Taichung, are Feng Chia Shopping District, Chin Min First Street, Jiguang Shopping area, and the National Science Museum.

Feng Chia Shopping District, located at the western part of Taichung, paved floor tiles for pedestrians and conducted street closures in some specific time or holidays. Moreover, some areas were constructed as scooter parking lots for student groups. However, there were some voices of objections and disagreements from students because they claimed that blocking the streets made it inconvenient for them on traffic.

¡@Jiguang Shopping area
Jiguang Shopping area, located near the Taichung Train Station, was a popular and prosperous shopping area in Taichung in the 70s and 80s. The longest walking area in Taichung was also located at the district. Street closure was conducted there periodically. However, owing to the change of the city’s business section, the area gradually declined.

Taichung Science Museum
The Taichung Science Museum and the Taichung Botanical Garden were separated by a road. Many visitors walk across the road so as to get to either of them. Therefore, the government paved tiles to slow down the speed of vehicles and installed passing buttons to ensure the safety of pedestrians. The results were effective and positive.
