Indoor Health and Environment indicators
In the library, every wood that can be seen or touched are painted with natural bore oil. No preservation treatment has been conducted. Therefore, unlike normal timber deck, these woods won’t produce formaldehyde that affects human health. All the woods remain natural and looks nice. In addition, they can not only adjust indoor humidity automatically, but also prevents from the erosion of sulfur gas. Decoration of indoor building materials: moderate decoration amount. The ceiling and indoor walls are made of eco-friendly building materials. Walls and the thick floor provide sound insulation. The lighting is equipped with anti-glare grille. It’s a library that makes people feel comfortable as soon as they enter.

Water Resources Indicators
There is a rain reservoir set in the base. By employing the inclined slope of roof, rain is collected and used to flush toilets. The reservoir can store up to 340 tons of water, which is equal to 26000 times the amount of flush water at a time, or 40% of toilette water use per person. In addition, the library adopts urinals and toilets that have been authenticated.They are all marked with water conservation permitment.

The Sewage and Garbage Improvement indicator
The sewage from the library will first be transported to the cesspool, be treated there, and then be banished to Taipei City Sanitary Sewer System. In regards to the garbage, the library established and beautified a reserved recycling and waste center that has sufficient transport space. It is where the library carries out recycling. Airtight garbage cans are also set up in the center to prevent animals from messing around with the garbage.
