Maybe you never notice the giant signs of numbers erected along the sidewalk of Zhongshan north road section two. Today, I finally have the chance to know it. The number 8 is representing this alley being ˇ§the eighth alleyˇ¨. Thatˇ¦s so interesting. We visit the Island cafe situated on ˇ§the second alleyˇ¨ of Zhongshan north road. This building is full of history and renovated beautifully. We are so happy to have the chance visiting this beautiful building and have a great time.

We visit the building housing the Island Cafe and also meet the architect who renovates this old building. We listen to story of the building and vision of the architect. This building is now renovated into a coffee shop and office. Every visitor to here would feel great atmosphere of quietness, calmness and relaxation. Also, the food here is great!

After visiting the Island Cafe and listening to its history and stories, I am moved. There are so many buildings of historical values. They all need other peopleˇ¦s help to make them reborn again. Not just buildings, I think people are the same. If you give up on someone, there will be nothing left for him to do. Without the help of others, we eventually will lose. So that, we should be grateful all the time.

We have come to visit this coffee shop on ˇ§the second alleyˇ¨. It used to be an almost deserted building and finally got renovated by an architect. This has given a new life to this historical building. After a great lunch and listening to the history of it, I think itˇ¦s so precious to have the new and the old blending together. The architect is really awesome. I think we should all be learning from him.

This time we come to a special place called Island cafe of ˇ§the second alleyˇ¨. The house has been renovated into an elegant building with comfortable atmosphere. We also hear about the stories of renovating process and devastating situation of the house before renovation. The architect has indeed earned my greatest respect for finishing this work.
