1. Legend of the Red House |
The Red House, red buildings of Jianguo High
School and red buildings of National Taiwan University
Hospital were built by the same Japanese architect.
During the World War II, this are was bombed. But
fortunately, it didnˇ¦t damage the main part of the
building. This neighborhood has been a business and
recreational center after World War II. Lots of movie
theaters are located in this area.

2. Second floor: Red House Theater
|
Because this is a historical building, we couldnˇ¦t
make lots of fixing and changing inside the
building. This room was originally a store selling
goods, but later changed into a theater. The ceiling
was made of special methods. At that time, it was a
very special method.

3. Stories from early day appliances |
In
closets of the Red House, there are many interesting
appliances that were used in the old days.
1. Typewriters: They display the old
typewriters as well as aged typewriter with tens of
thousands of Chinese characters on it.
2. Business registration certificate: After
the Red Housed turned into a market place, they
applied a system of making registration of your
stand and offering you a plate with your stand
number on it. Thus, everyone who did business there
would have to pay tax to government.
