After being trained to be the volunteer tour guide of this place, I have grown
much interests in historical buildings. Now, let me introduce the history of
Taipei Story House for you!
On 1914, one famous and rich merchant called Chao-Jun Chen built up this
building for greeting and entertaining his guests. On 2003, Ms. Guo-Tze Chen
sponsored the funding of this building and turned it into a museum. There have
been many exhibitions held in this building.
In the process of learning to be a volunteer, I have learned many things
including watering flowers, greeting tourists, sorting books, acquiring
knowledge of historical buildings. When guiding senior people, we need to slow
down our speech. If guiding young children, we need to say things in simple
ways. Although I only did this for a few months, this was a really wonderful
experience to me.
