Truku ˇ§facial tattooˇ¨ culture always
connects very closely with daily life. It also reflects
thoughts and emotion of the tribal people; thus, it
becomes one of the important elements of tribal culture.
In a modern era, new technology and wisdom are to
develop an internet social group that cares about local
culture and development. To combine internet technology
and the action of field study can discover real origin
of tradition and find out lifelong cultural flowing
water. In addition to pamper the souls of modern tribal
people, we hope to look for and unfold the confidence
and characteristic of our tribal culture.
In terms of using information
technology and related material, we understand from the
interviews that ˇ§facial tattooˇ¨ is sacred and bears
cultural meaning for Truku. Facial tattoo people are
gradually gone in modern society; yet, childrenˇ¦s facial
tattoo curriculum includes art education of our heritage
and clearly demonstrates the understanding of facial
tattoo. The in-depth research presents a hard-working
effort to preserve tribal culture. So, ˇ§facial tattooˇ¨
is not only for the skin but in the heart of every Truku
child.
In this project, through the
professional help from students and teachers, there are
new creative ideas plus the full support from school
parentsˇ¦ association and volunteer workers to produce
new energy and unselfish effort. ˇ§Facial tattooˇ¨ culture
appears again with these resources so that children can
have diverse, suitable and creative learning opportunity
in this cultural curriculum. In addition to cultural
heritage, it also inspires their intellectual ability
and glory of life.
