The Taipei City Regenerated Furniture
Market (1, Lane 178, Shin Chung Road, Nei Hu District)
was held on Oct. 28th, 2006 at 2:30 pm. Mayor
Ma was personally there at the opening ceremony, and
there were many pieces of regenerated furniture to view
and buy. Not only were prices low, but the auctioning
prices started from 30% the original price. The pieces
were beautiful, and each one was personally regenerated
by an expert, giving them new life.
At the top floor, there was also a solar powered
electricity system, using clean solar energy to power
some of the market place. It was combined with the city
electricity system, so even there would be electricity
even if it rained. It was the best example of conserving
energy and reducing greenhouse gases. At the market, we
also looked at many facilities, like 2 stage water
conserving toilets, energy conserving lighting, and etc,
all great conservation facilities. Everyone should go
check it out!
