Lian-Fa released several type of Shan Shui Rice packaged in small vacuum packs. Each weighs 1kg or 2kg. On the package is a lotus pattered Baihe drawn by “Pig pan Artist”, Chen Shih-Sheng. The caption on each product package was written by the chairman.
Lian-Fa produced package rice is CNS Class I rice. Chinese-Japanese collaborated Dream Beauty has also passed 528 items of testing. Other rice varieties like Chang Sheng Aromatic Rice, Shan Shui Rice, Good Rice, and germinal rice are all high quality rice varieties.

Shang Shui Aromatic Rice is a well-known Yi Chuan Aromatic Rice type. [Tainung No. 71] This rice variety is a mixed breed between Japanese “Kinuhikari”and local“Taikeng No. 4”in memory of group leader Dr. Guo Yi Chuan. It is therefore otherwise known as Yi Chuan Aromatic Rice.
Yi Chuan Aromatic Rice has short and lustrous rice grain. The rice is sticks and elastic. It has yam-like rich smell and the rice quality parallels Japan Good Rice. When cooked in Peng Lai Rice cooking style, the room is filled with fragrant smell. It tastes extremely delicious as well. The 2006 champion rice is of this variety.
Shang Shui Aromatic Rice passed CAS Premium Food Certification〔No. 041601〕CAS logo and “Taiwan Good Rice” logo are imprinted on rice packages. In Taiwan, only 16 packaged rice types have these two logos.

Special Class Shan Shui Rice falls under Taikeng No. 2 rice variety type. It is an improved variety of Tainan Agricultural Research & Extension Station, COA in 1982. This rice type has lustrous rice grains which are translucent, pure and elastic. The taste and quality are Taiwan No. 1. The 2004 and 2005 champion rice is Taikeng No.2. It is ideal when consumed as fried rice, rice soup, and lunchbox rice. Special Class Shan Shui Rice also passed CAS Premium Food Certification.〔No. 041602〕Therefore, the CAS and “Taiwan Good Rice” logos are also found on rice packages. During Taipei Food Show, Lian-Fa served as representative factory of Taikeng No. 2 for two consecutive years.
　

“Good Rice” is famous and is recognized as one of the most delicious rice varieties. It is also royal rice offered as tribute to the Japanese emperor. It is considered national rice variety and the most expensive one of all.
The most well-known production area of Good Rice is Niigata, Japan or “Ko Shi No Mi Chi No Shi Ri.”Good Rice is named after it. It is also named “light” for the lustrous and rich appearance of the rice grain. Some say that this type of rice is the light of “Ko Shi No Mi Chi No Shi Ri”, thus, it derived its name.
Shang Shui Good Rice is introduced by Lian-Fa from Ostfold County 〔Nearby Niigataken or Ecchujima in ancient times〕The original plant species of Good Rice was cultivated. After cooking, milled rice/polished rice has a layer of bright coating which tastes supple. It is especially appealing to high class consumers.
　

Chiang Sheng Aromatic Rice variety is Tainung No. 22 or japonica sinica (non-glutinous rice; non-waxy rice)It is a mixed breed cultivated by Chiayi Branch of Agricultural Research Institute, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan. “japonica sinica (non-glutinous rice; non-waxy rice) type of Aromatic Rice was named on July 2nd, 2004. The rice (grain) has gentle scent and the grain appears translucent and pure. It has premium quality as food and it tastes delicious. The husk is relatively larger as compared to Tainung No. 20 japonica sinica (non-glutinous rice; non-waxy rice) and grain shattering is generally more difficult. It has higher percentage of head rice and rough rice/paddy volume weight.
Tainung japonica sinica (non-glutinous rice; non-waxy rice) No. 22 rice leaf is lightly scented. Being in the rice field leaves one feeling relaxed and happy. When stored at room temperature, the scent and food quality are well maintained even after 4 months.
　

Shan Shui Rice variety is Tainan No. 11. It is a new variety named on November 4th, 2004. It is a mixed breed cultivated by Tainan District, Agricultural Research and Extension Station, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan. This variety is tasteful, high in production volume, anti-mite, anti-lodging, and low in shattering. In addition, The percentage of head rice, and taste of Tainan No.11 are slightly better than premium rice variety Taikeng No. 9.

Shang Shui Germinal Rice variety is Taikeng No. 9. It is the 2003 champion rice variety. Taikeng No. 9 is a mixed breed of 〔Tainung japonica sinica (non-glutinous rice; non-waxy rice) Yu No. 2414〕, and Keng〔Beilu No. 100〕cultivated by Taichung District, Agricultural Research and Extension Station, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan in 1982. In 1993, it was named Taikeng No. 9. During the taxonomy review meeting, Tainung No. 67, Taichung No. 189 and Taikeng No. 9 rice were not labeled and were given to meeting attendants to select (by circling). Over 95% of the people selected Taikeng No. 9 as the most delicious rice.
　

Shang Shui Dream Beauty is the product of product and sales collaboration between Lian-Fa and Nakashimamio Shoutenn. On March 2nd, 2005, Lian-Fa introduced the original rice species under patent of Nakashimamio Shoutenn, Japan. “Yume Ka Ori (Dream Beauty)”mutated under moon light and was cultivated. It has features such as anti-lodging, and anti-pathogenicity. Its rice grain is smaller than Taiwan Rice and its grain is also more translucent and pure. After cooking, it becomes soft upon cooling.
