According
to the enactment of the National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine
Management Section, Reserve Command, two national memorials
are held in Martyrs' Shrine each year, spring national memorial
and autumn national memorial. Spring national memorial takes
place on March 29th, Youth Day, in combination with memorial
service of Tomb Sweeping Day(April 5th) each year. Autumn
national memorial is held on September 3rd, Armed Forces Day.
President would officiate the national memorial with premiers
of Executive Yuan, Legislation Yuan, Judicial Yuan, Examination
Yuan and Control Yuan, inviting families of enshrined martyrs
and relevant officials to pay their highest respect to the
martyrs.
Applying to participate
the Autumn National Memorial
With the suggestion of Professor Tsai Jin-Tang and Mr. Lien
Yi-Chou, we filed an official document to the Office of the
President to participate the 2005 Autumn National Memorial
in order to conduct our research on Martyrs' Shrine. A week
later, the Office of the President approved our application;
however, it only allowed instructors to participate. We figured
we need better technique support on filming and photography,
so our school appointed Miss. Chen, Mr. Lee and Miss Huang
to participate the memorial.

Autumn
National Memorial Rehearsal on September 2nd
The official document from the Office of the President demanded
that we participate the memorial rehearsal on September 2nd
for a preview of the memorial service, in case we might hinder
the session while observing. Three of our instructors, Miss.
Chen, Mr. Lee and Miss Huang arrived on time. Our instructors
watched the Tri-force Honor Guards and Ministry of National
Defense Symphony Orchestra practicing with solemn tension. Officials
from the Office of the President came to oversee the rehearsal,
while military officers were busy preparing for the memorial.

2005
Autumn National Memorial on September 3rd
The 2005 Autumn National Memorial began at 10 a.m. When the
memorial service began, the bell started peeling and the drum
started beating. President Chen incensed to martyrs and presented
wreath. After the eulogist finished reading the elegiac address,
President Chen, Vice President, along with premiers of Executive
Yuan, Legislation Yuan, Judicial Yuan, Examination Yuan and
Control Yuan, led government officials to take three bows to
the martyrs. On both sides of the Main Hall hung the wreaths
presented by President. Fresh flowers were placed before martyrs'
tablets with burning incense. The atmosphere was sublime and
solemn. After the memorial service was completed, President
Chen shook hands with the representative of martyrs' families.
