Intro

Leadership. Upon hearing that word, the first thing that comes to mind must be an endless array of former and current presidents, big firm directors, and military generals-people of prestige and power. But is leadership simply about being the first, the biggest or the most powerful? A more meaningful definition, a leader is interpreted as someone who sets direction in an effort and influences people to follow that direction. How they set that direction and influence people, however, depends on a variety of different factors.

Leaders in diplomacy give direction the course of history that follows, and in the following we would like to introduce a man who indeed led the course of history. Let us retrace his steps and see how his decisions and words influenced both modern Chinese and modern Taiwan history, his name to be remembered by each and every Chinese individual: CCK-Chiang ching-kuo.
