The rear hall is for Daoist worship. The architecture is fundamentally the same as in the front and main halls, but the deities here are not Buddhist in origin. Here you will find Matsu (goddess of the sea), King Wenchang (god of literature), and King Guansheng (god of business), for example. The animistic origin of all these gods make the rear hall a virtual supermarket of the supernatural. Are you fighting an illness? Hoping everything will go safely and smoothly on a long trip?
